In an effort to increase participation, the Richmond City Health District is offering 60-minute, interactive trainings for healthcare professionals, faith-based and community-based organizations and government agencies serving WIC-eligible populations.

After the training, participants will know the answers to these questions and more:

  • Who is eligible?
  • What services does WIC provide?
  • Where can families go to receive WIC services?
  • How can healthcare providers and community leaders help connect eligible families to WIC services?
  • How does WIC improve pregnancy and health outcomes and diminish the burden of chronic disease on children born into low-income households?

If you have any questions or would like to schedule a training for your organization, contact:  Claire Sadeghzadeh at Claire.sadeghzadeh@vdh.virginia.gov.
